Hmm... I wouldn't mind maybe living for 200 years but forever? I don't think that I'd like to live forever. It would get a bit boring if you lived forever. Plus I'd be really sad if all of my loved ones died.

I would only want to live for 200 years if that's how long everybody lived. If it was just me, and everyone else had 80-90 yr lifespans...then, no.

If it were typical, yes.

Yeah, what everyone said. I would be so sad to watch people die around me, so I'm good with the average life span.

I would definitely not want to live for that long. Yes also because the previsous reasons, but because I don't want to wait that long to go to Heaven! I would be very impatient.

It depends on whether I have friends and family around, the ability to enjoy life, and function independently.

No. If I am never aging and is at my peak with my appearance, maybe. Lol, I'm already afraid of growing old! By 200, I wouldn't be able to even get out of the bed!

It would all depend on which two hundred years! Eighty years doesn't seem long enough, but two hundred years is too long. And I agree that everyone would need to have the same general life span.

Imagine all the things you would see if you could live for 200 years. That aspect of it appeals to me so much, because, like Dia said, 80 years is definitely not long enough. Provided that I could have at least one friend /family member with me, I'd do it.

Yes. Even if it meant outliving loved ones. The world is full of people and animals to love. Two hundred years isn't all that much--nothing like forever.

Only if it meant that my loved ones were with me and I wasn't rattling around on my own without them.

200 years. I think I could fill them. We could ask the Cullens. ;~)

Or we could live with the Cullens...

;)

I love reading all your posts. I waffle on this answer. Like Jen, I wish I could live two lifetimes because there is so much to see and do in this world, BUT, if I didn't have those I loved to share it with me, I am not sure how much I would enjoy it.
There have been times when I traveled alone, and not having someone there with me to say, "Oh, look at that!" or "What should we do next?" really made me kind of sad.

Fascinating question - really, I'm fascinated by so many of the questions raised in The Adoration of Jenna Fox. What if all of us lived 200 years? Then it would be the norm. Aha, Erin and Little Willow, I see we're thinking along the same lines, lol. I think I would, actually. Even if it weren't the norm. It would be incredible to watch history unfold, to see how people change and stay the same. To do the things that don't fit into 80 years. Yes, I would.

How's my body going to handle 200 years, because I need to be able to be in the world, not just of it? And what about my eyes and ears? I MUST be able to read or at least listen to books.

I think I wouldn't mind living as long as the people I loved. I don't think I'd want to live 200 years though. Everyone would be dead long before me. I wouldn't want to be left all alone!

nooo what would i do for 200 years

I agree with Mrs. F-B, my body would have to be hale and hearty for most of the two hundred years.
Can you imagine the changes if two hundred years were the norm?
Maybe we wouldn't be considered adults until age 35 instead of 21.
College might last for ten years!

That was funny!

Yeah, well I think I'd live for 200years if all my friends and family were with me too.

200 years MIGHT be fine. However, like others mentioned, it would be sad watching all of your friends and family die.

I agree with Erin, I'd only want to live 200 years if it was a normal thing. If everyone else didn't, I'd feel a bit weird.

On the other hand, it would be kind of cool to see all of the change and experience it.
