I think that it is absolutely crucial that your friends understand you. If they do, then they can help to console you if you are feeling sad or celebrate with you over a victory. If they don't, then you feel disconnected and they can't really be with you mentally and help you through difficult times, which is partially what friends are for.
It is important to have comrades who understand and support you, and you in turn should support them. Mutually beneficial friendships and relationships.
I'm so thankful to have friends who understand me. It is crucial, bibliogirl!
It takes time and a willingness to reveal yourself though.
It's definitely key to have friends who understand you. I also think it's amazing to have friends who "get" you in a way that means you only need to give them a look and they know just what's going on. It's awesome to have that kind of connection.
I think you're really lucky when you find someone who just seems to "get you", almost instantly. Kindred spirits are rare. If you find one, treasure that relationship.
I would perish without the understanding of my friends. I would melt like an ice cream cone on a hot day.
I think it's one of the most important things in the world. And sometimes it comes unexpectedly - someone you didn't expect to will be there for you - and I love those moments.
