I just read ALSO KNOWN AS HARPER last week and I loved it. It is the perfect choice for the Middle Grade reader who likes stories about real issues in the world. Ann Haywood Leal is an author to watch.

I enjoyed reading The Plain Janes. It was my first graphic novel! Well, if not counting the Calvin & Hobbes' comics...
