Luv Ya Bunches Will Be in Middle School Book Fairs

Scholastic has announced that they will carry Luv Ya Bunches by Lauren Myracle in their middle school bookfairs. The fight isn't over yet, though - It should be carried in the elementary school bookfairs too, don't you think? The book was written for that age group, and the main characters are in 5th grade.

Read the updates we added to the end of the previous post.

Thank you to everyone who signed the petition, and to everyone who supports truth in fiction and knows the value of a good book. :)

Note that the announcement from Scholastic says that they will include Luv Ya Bunches in their MIDDLE SCHOOL book fairs. The characters in this book are fifth grade girls--as Rocco Staino says in the SLJ article, elementary school girls. Everyone knows kids like to read UP--to read about characters their age or a bit older. Books about fifth-graders should be in elementary AND middle school. I'd save the congratulations for Scholastic.
