February: What does the strength of family mean to you?
In Copper Sun, Amari and her parents have a very close and loving relationship, as do Amari and her little brother Kwasi. Later, when she's sold into slavery, the strength of her family -- even though they're gone -- makes a difference in her life and helps her survive. Do you feel that your family's strength has helped you through difficulties? How?

I definitely feel like family strenght is something that, once you've felt and trusted it, lives inside of you. I lost my dad a few years ago, but we were so close that even now--when faced with a decision I'd like to discuss with him--I can almost hear what he'd say/ask/advise. That's a powerful thing!
Family can shape who you are and how you see the world. Family can teach you, for better or for worse, what you know and what you want to learn. Family reminds you where you come from, and perhaps where you'll go and what you'll be. Of course, if one has a negative family experience, it could show you what you don't want to do or who you don't want to be, and you can strive to be a better person, and be stronger for it.
Amari found "family," as well as strength, in people she met on her journey.
But what IS family? Your mom and dad? Your brothers and sisters? Grandparents? Aunts and uncles and cousins? Can friends be considered family? What about those you work closely with, like people in the band with you , or on a sports team? What is family when your immediate family is not around?
Good question, Sharon. I'm going to post it as a blog!
I'd say family is the net of people who surround you in love. Blood related or not!
Our family strength has been tested many times in the past 5 years, mostly due to medical stuff. Love wins out over all.
Who are family when family aren't around? Those few friends I can trust to be myself with. We support one another through good and bad and Celebrate when good changes happen. Thanks for asking, Sharon
Millions of women around the world are determined to find a foreign husband. Their reasons for wanting to do so can vary widely. Some of them want to escape the poverty of their home countries. Others are unhappy with the way they are treated by local men. Many foreign brides simply find Western men attractive and sincerely want to marry one. The service provides a legit mail order bride who wants to find a foreign man herself. So if you are looking for a girl, this is a great option.
