Industry News Flash: Kirkus Closes

Just saw this on Tracy van Straaten's Facebook. I can't believe it!

As part of the sale of its business to business publications, Nielsen Business Media has announced that it is closing its book review publication Kirkus Reviews as well as Editor & Publisher.

As someone on Facebook said, it's like the book community is losing its Simon Cowell. And you kind of need that judge, don't you?

That is so crazy. I've gotten used to seeing their reviews on the back of books and it's going to be weird not reading those anymore...
