Day of Silence - Friday, April 15th

Today, you can make a statement without saying a word. Here's how, as described by an awesome readergirl I know who is currently a freshman in college:

The Day of Silence is an active, silent protest that anybody can partake in to help raise awareness and fight against LGBT bullying and harassment. To participate, all you need to do is stay silent, in the way you feel most comfortable. It can be in the form of refraining from texting, going online, or literally staying silent and not speaking.

Not everyone chooses to be silent over the course of the entire day - some people choose to go a full 24 hours, while others choose to remain silent only between classes or before/after the school day. Still others choose to participate in a silent lunch - any contribution can help raise awareness.

For more information, go to http://www.dayofsilence.org

Don't forget, spread the word, invite people to participate, and wear red this Friday!
