Readergirlz Bookmarks: How to Make Them!

Jen Funk Weber is back with the tutorial on making Readergirlz bookmarks! Lots of you guys have requested the kits to make these, and you can request one up through 3/15, so let us know if you still need one by emailing readergirlz AT gmail DOT com.

Here's Jen:

"All right, stitchergirlz, if you've got your bookmark kit, here are the instructions for making your bookmark. We have a video tutorial and a downloadable pattern pdf. Don't sweat it if you can't watch the video; in addition to the pattern, the pdf contains diagrams and detailed instructions for stitching and finishing.

In the video, I promise to leave a link to a tutorial explaining how variegated threads can create different effects depending on how they're used. You can check it out here.

If you have any questions, post them here in the comments or send them directly to Jen [AT] mail [AT] funkandweber [DOT] com.

When you've stitched your bookmark, you can post a picture of it in the brand new Stitching for Literacy Flickr Group. We'd love to see it!

And let us know if you make some to include in books you drop on April 15 for Operation TBD.

Happy stitching, readergirlz!

PS - Remember, if you have not requested a FREE a kit and would like to, you have until March 15 to send your name and mailing address to readergirlz [AT] gmail [DOT] com."

Thanks for this project, Jen!

Nice to meet you in person Jen. I am giving your links to my local librarian. I asked her to contact you and sign up. I have been in touch with her to see if I can teach some classes to her teens and maybe have them stitch bookmarks for other teens in those 11 schools you spoke to me about. Love your video.
