readergirlz is the cutting edge literacy and social media project for teens, awarded the National Book Award for Innovations in Reading. The rgz blog serves as a depot for news and YA reviews from industry professionals and teens. The volunteer organization holds two initiatives a year to impact teen literacy. Risk Taking: Reaching Out
Our theme this month is Risk Taking, and this video, "The Seventeenth Minute," illustrates a reach-out risk that can change someone's fate. Made by high school filmmakers, it's currently touring festivals and is well worth the four minutes.
