In honor of our national inauguration, we're giving away 25 sets of 4 books from Ellen Emerson White's President's Daughter series (Feiwel and Friends) to 25 random commenters!
Imagine owning all four of the books in this great series about Meg Powers, the daughter of the first female president of the United States. We featured Ellen on readergirlz in November, and we're so excited to be able to give 25 readergirlz full sets of her fantastic series!
So, to enter, just comment below. Say hi, tell us what it feels like to usher in our new president, write a haiku--it all counts. We'll choose 25 commenters on January 31st to win the books, so speak up by then!
Good luck!

Count me in! I've been wanting to read these for ages.
Words cannot express. I am DVRing two channels of coverage all day. Can't wait to get home and curl up with my family and watch everything again with them in my arms.

I read and really enjoyed Long May She Reign and would love to win the full set of The President's Daughter series by Ellen Emerson White... thanks... :)
feeling elated, joyful, inspired and hopeful for the future of this planet.
Saw this on twitter ~ very kewl giveway.
Tears in my eyes as I watch the limo procession on TV, anticipating the inaugural address, knowing that my kids are watching the events at school. Like Yabooklady, I'm looking forward to watching the tivoed coverage again with my kids tonight, sharing an important moment in history they will always remember.
A day full of hope and promise for our future. I've already got my tissues and plan on having the tv on all day.
Here's to a new president!
Today is such an exciting day. The anticipation and positive energy and feeling is so wonderful today! I am filled with hope.
Just watched President Obama's speech! Amazing.
HAPPY OBAMA DAY!
I just watched the inauguration. Celebration time!
Thanks to rgz, Ellen Emerson White, and F&F for the giveaway.
I'm so sad I can't keep watching all day! I don't want to miss the ballgowns tonight, but I'll be at work. Stupid bills. Whomever wins is very lucky! I love Meg Powers!
I just watched the inauguration at my library!
It's a historic day, that's for sure. And what an appropriate giveaway. I've read Long May She Reign, and have been wanting to go back and read the others, so please do count me in. Thanks!!

Great giveaway on an inspiring day. thank you!
I just just watched the inauguration. I cried and was so inspired. As a history buff, I loved the comments he made about our founders.
I'd love to be entered in this awesome contest!
Hope. It is a comfort that provokes and generates excitement and inspiration for a new generation, not only for Americans but for all people across our small planet. To quote Dylan, "The times they are a-changin". Yes they are! In spite of everything we face, we are truly blessed.
such a feeling of joy, this day brings. it's filled with hope and promise for the future.
Umm...I think I'll skip the haiku. I have no poetic skill whatsoever! But I am very excited to see what our new President can do for us!!! Hopefully, it's all uphill from here!
Well I live in the UK, but I'm so glad Obama won (I think this was actually the first time I followed the whole US presidential election thing, it was awesome). :)
Sadly I missed the Inauguration though, I had to babysit (damn!). I'll have to youtube it. :)
This really is a perfect time for these books. Great give away!
Oooh this is great :D
I love our new president our whole school watched the inauguration. I really liked Obama's speech, not a fan of the poem that lady made though...

I was part of that mess on the mall today. I thought of Meg Powers when Sasha and Malia walked in...
I read the first book when I was a kid, but didn't know it was a series until recently! I want to read it!
That's great of Ellen Emerson White to be so generous and donate her great series of books.
So many books!

What a great contest to celebrate our new President! It's a glorious day to be an American.
Awesome giveaway!! This is the first year that I have ever voted because I knew that even tho' people say "My vote won't matter."...well if millions of people thought like that then yes, it does matter... I am so happy that Obama won!! Hopefully he can put America back together again...

Hi! My husband and son were on the Mall yesterday; I stayed home with out daughter, who's too little to be out in the cold for so long, but will some day love these books. I would love them already! Thanks for the giveaway!
I loved these when I read the first three years ago, and I would love to see if they're as awesome as I remember.
I've never read these books, but they sound interesting.
What an awesome give away. I felt so privileged yesterday to know I was watching history in a positive way. I have seen history negatively, 9/11, but yesterday felt very special.
Watching the inauguration was a moving and amazing experience. I am so excited about our new president!
I have been meaning to read these books, so I would love to win the set! Thanks for doing the contest.
LiddypooL2(at)aol(dot)com
These books are supposed to be fantastic! Plus, could there be a better time to read them? Great giveaway!
This is a great idea!
You really can never tell what will happen in 4 years. But what I believe is that we elected someone with confidence. And that to me is one of the important characteristics a leader must have.
As for the series, my co-worker has been buggin me to pick it up and read read read. And the best part is, we work in a library!! :o)
Even though they were already in bed, I took pictures of my kids yesterday, when I thought of it. I want to be able to show them what they were like when such a historic day took place. They probably won't remember it (they are 4 years old and 10 months old) but they will most definitely learn about it.
I'd look forward to reading the books and then passing them on to my daughter, when she's old enough!
What a great inauguration day!
These books look super great
I've got these on my wish list! It would be great to get all four. Thanks for having this giveaway.
i hope i win!
I read and enjoyed the originals many years ago but somehow missed the fact that there was a fourth book! I'm very curious about the updates. Thanks for a great giveaway offer!
I think it was great seeing so many people excited about Barack Obama becoming president, and it was people from the U.S. and all around the world. It's crazy the impact it has, but it was definitely cool.

Please enter me! :)
what a great giveaway! can't wait to read this series. hooray!
ooh, I'm glad I'm not the president's daughter!
I checked for these books at the Vancouver library, and they're not there. Maybe the library's waiting for The Prime Minister's Daughter to come out? Anyway, I would love to enter the contest. Thank you!
I know it's becoming cliché not it really was hopeful . . . To think of all the things that the country can be and do now and the things that can, well, go back :)
Wonderful idea!
Thanks for the contest!
these look good.
I read the first one of these books many years ago and would love to have copies of the set for my own. Thank you!
Ooh, I am DYING to read these books. Also excited to have found a new blog to add to my daily reading list.
Crossing my fingers...
Thanks!
I'd love to get the books. Thanks for doing this giveaway.
[Btw, I live in Austria, I hope that's not a problem. :)]
I keep hearing about these books all over the place lately. I can't wait to read them!
I LOVED The President's Daughter - I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series. Excellent contest idea.
I would love to win these. I don't live in America but good luck to you all with the new president.
Oh wow!
here is my Haiku:
Wanting all Meg's books,
Expecting a different plot
For the two real girls.
I loved this books, both the new and the old versions!
Oh, what a huge leap forward yesterday! It's definitely worth celebrating 'til the end of the week.
I have heard a lot about these books, winning would just be icing on the cake!
Please please please please please! I want to win these books.
I am so Proud of our new First Family! Even though the country has issues, the good vibes are strong. People are happy!
I would be even happier to win a copy of the books, which I have on several wishlists! What a great giveaway!
This is so cool to see all the comments! Thanks, everyone!

Awesome giveaway - I would love to read these! :-) Thanks so much!

I thought it was an amazing day. When Obama won the election, I was surprised. I always thought that America would have a woman president first before an African-American one but, I'm happy that change is happening and progress is being made.
Hi! I've heard these books are amazing!
I'd love to read those books. I've seen so many great comments and interviews about them. Will you try to give a set to the Obama girls for when they are older? The last one might not be appropriate at any age since we hope and pray such circumstances won't happen.
Or give Mitali Perkins' book! I do hope that the girls are getting floods of book gifts for their White House library.
I've been handing them out to my library YAs so often lately! What a great idea.
Exciting! I'd love to read the series. I'm a children's bookseller, but my store's in Toronto, so they're books I can't justify getting "for stock" (ie, so I can borrow them).
Cool to see so many people excited about these books!
Love Ellen Emerson White and I'm so excited that this series is back in print!
Oh my gosh. I love these books. When I first started to read them, the election was getting really close. And it just felt really relevent and like this could happen in the future.

*sits and hopes*
Ooh, I've been wanting to read these!
I am so glad President Barack Obama is finally in office. I have been rooting for him all along.
My mother taught me that when I have nothing nice to say, I should say nothing. So about the inauguration:
"nothing."
It was a good opportunity to watch less TV and read more books. Would love to read about a fictional President rather than 44.
OK, seriously? When I saw Malia and Sasha at the inauguration yesterday, I thought, "You know, I really need to read that President's Daughter series I've been hearing about - it's supposed to be really good". So winning this contest would be very convenient :).
Love your blog. :)
Enter me please. This series looks really good.

These books have been on my to-be-read list for some time now- it would be fantastic to own the set.
I teach junior high school, so I watched the inauguration with a roomful of 7th graders. I was surprised by how many of them sat spellbound for the President's speech. My wildest boy walked right up to the TV and stood enthralled for 20 minutes, except for the point where he told me, "I'm getting chills."
I was born early enough that I can remember Nixon resigning, so I've seen quite a few presidents, and this was the best. Even my parents, in their 80s, white, voted for the opposition, were moved and hopeful over this event.
Godspeed, Mr. Obama. Godspeed.
I remember reading these books years ago. I've been wanting to get the new editions for our library for a while now. This would be a great opportunity!
What an outstanding and generous idea. i love how excited everyone is, even the conservatives!
Thank you!
Emily
I've been wanting to read this series! How awesome!
I have had these on my bookmooch wishlist for quite a while now! Awesome please choose me koratheexplora@gmail.com
To be honest I have never heard of these books before but I have mused over the awesomeness of having young girls (rather than teens - hopefully they'll get that chance too)in the White House.
I would love to be a recipient of these books.
What a great giveaway! Thanks for hosting it. I have never heard of these books, but they look like they would be fun to read! Please enter me!

I'd love to read these books!
And I totally think this is a great way to usher in a new prez. :)
I've heard good things about these books and would love to read them. Count me in!
Thanks! :0)
I've been know to stay up all night will Long Live the Queen.
Thanks for the contest! Enter me please.
How awesome is this week? First, a new president who immediately put the smack-down on the craziness from the preceding administration. And now a set of books I've been dying to read? Hallelujah!
I've never gotten a chance to read all four books, but only because I couldn't find them as a teenager. What an awesome giveaway! I will definitely be doing some renewed searching at the library in the meantime.
"Yes, we can!"
How did I not know about this series? I've read the reviews and they are quite good - I can see what readers this author would appeal to and am eager to do some booktalking after I read them myself!
I love Ellen Emerson White. I think this is a great contest!
I have heard such good things about these books but haven't gotten around to reading them yet.
I wish I could have watched the Inauguration, but I had to work. Luckily all of my friends were Twittering about it.
I've heard great things about these books, I'd love to give them a try!
And SUPER FREAKIN EXCITED is sliiiightly how I felt Tuesday, although a bit of an understatement. :)
(moon.lemmingATgmailDOTcom)
What a great way to help readers learn about the "behind the scenes" day to day life of the first family from the point of view of the president's daughter. Everyone seems really interested in President Obama and U. S. history. I'm glad a company offers a unique way for readers to take part in the historical events associated with the presidency.
I'd love to have this series in our school library! Thanks for the giveaway!
Came over from bookshelves of doom and I think I'll stick around for a while and check it out!
Oo! Oo! Pick me! I shall even wirte a limerick. Here it goes.
There was once a really awesome girlie,
Who wanted some books so she could go curl..ing,
She hoped she would win,
So she grew a...fin,
And now she looks like a big fishie.
It was tear-enducing, I know. Talent like this is hard to come by. :)
My class was so excited for the inaugurations that we didn't do any work but sit there but sit and watch it over the internet for a good 90 minutes. I can't wait to see what Obama has in store for us.
It's a feeling of hope and excitement that is felt all over the world...
I think 2009 will be a historic year with the new administration.
What a joyous day! I laughed, I cried, but mostly I thought about how change is gonna come.
I've read the first book in the series and loved it. I wonder if the Obama girls (well, maybe Sasha is a little too young now) have read these books?
Thanks this generous offer!
I ADORE this series!
Awesome! I can't seem to get the first one via inter-library loan at all.
In fifth grade, my teacher was the only African-American on staff. At some point, I remember her saying that the United States would elect a woman long before they would elect a black man or woman. That comment stuck with me, and really bothered me. Maybe racism wasn't something that had occurred to me in the real world yet? I lived in a small town thirty miles from the 'big city' of Minneapolis...it wasn't very diverse. I just wish I knew where she was today so I could tell her how happy I am she was proved wrong. Even if she was one of my favorite teachers ever.
President Powers taught me the word "obstreperous"; last Tuesday made me remember what inspiration feels like.
Are you sending a set to Sasha and Malia?

Oh, wow. I want these so bad!
I was one of those lucky 3 million+ who ended up in D.C. for the Inauguration. Granted, I spent the day in an office in the National League of Cities building overlooking PA Ave but it was still amazing, especially when Obama went by in his gigantic car with a thousand secret service people!

These look great! =]
I was so proud of our country during the Inauguration. It seemed almost a rebirth of pride in our country not to malign the previous administration. To see that amount of patriotism is something I haven't seen since 9/11. I cried during the President's speech and loved the whole ceremonial aspects of it. I have great faith in President Obama.

I felt like chest was all puffed out during the inaugural address, I was so proud of our country!

Oh, wow. I've been seeing these books at my local Barnes & Noble forever; it would be awesome to finally get a chance to read them.
My whole school was celebrating on Inauguration Day. It should've been declared a school holiday, what with all the professors cancelling classes so we could go to one of the 6 places on campus where large screens were set up, displaying the inauguration live. It was lots of fun.
Thanks for holding the contest...
I didn't get to go to the innauguration this time around, but I'm excited about Obama taking office.
katlins@cox.net
I was in Israel during the inauguration and even watching it that far from home was amazing. I was crying, all these Israelis were cheering and placing so much hope in our new leadership. It was just beyond amazing.
I would love to read this series!
