I already did. :)

That's the truth, LW!

I have never had a nickname, really. Although, I guess some people call me LA now.

My mom chose names that couldn't be shortened easily on purpose. She's like that. :~)

But if I could choose...

People used to call me either the Madhatter or Happy Hattie in high school. Now that I'm a teacher, I have less first name nicknames, but kids sometimes call me Mrs. D. Boring!

I'm not so very nicknamey. But people in middle school used to call me Barfa. Thanks, middle school.

Same, Little Willow, I have already nicknamed myself!

My name is too short to have a proper nickname - Lorie Ann, my mom did that too! :D

I've always had an abbreviated name, but there's no meaning in it. It's just easier and more convenient.

LW and Misty, when and how did you come up with your nicknames? And is there a why, as well?

JenFW: When I was very, very young, my mother wrote down many spelling variations on my nickname. I selected one, and that's been my name ever since.

Ha, Martha! Oh man.

I'm sometimes Mel (to my high school friends), and sometimes Missy (to my uber-southern friends).

I'm Lizard to my dad (middle name Elizabeth). No other nicknames - but I love nicknaming others!

Dia IS my nickname. Ha! Also, when I was little, Kite. My Dad still calls me that. I adore nicknames and all my cats have several names.

Dia! KITE is the best nickname ever!

In high school my friends called me KelJo (for Kelly Jo). My family just calls me Kel when they want to shorten Kelly. Cazzy is short for Caswell, my maiden name. Students my first year of teaching called me Ms. Cazzy. My dad also used to call me Bigfoot because my feet grew really fast when I was a kid.

No nicknames for me... I remember though... whenever playing house or school or other role-playing games I always wanted to be Julia Mackintire. If I had a kid, his or her name was Mischief. Haha?!?! Not sure where I came up with those!!?
