Katsa's fantasy world is really interesting and like Lorie, I love discovering new lands in books.
My world would mostly consist in gingerbread houses, roads made of icing, mountains covered by mashmallows and minty and flowery plains. Oh, and Nutella rivers.
I like worlds with a physical shape somewhat like our own, but more fresh water sources in the temperate areas. Creating something set in an archipelago would be great fun, with so many islands--mini environments, like the Galapagos!
My world would have a planet that revolves more slowly. By which I mean, the days are too short! I think I'm better suited to 26- or 27-hour days. Stay awake 18 hours, sleep for 9... I'd have more time for reading!
I do. It had a very distinct yet familiar (to historical fantasy fans) feel.
My favorite fantasy worlds include Fantastica in The NeverEnding Story (called Fantasia in the film), Strangewood from the book of the same title by Christopher Golden, the Lands Beyond from The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, and more.
My fantasy world--eternal summer for a climate. Islands, mountains, water, an archipelago like the Wizard of Earthsea with dramatic scenery. Orchards, vineyards, country...
My world would have less concrete and I'd have my own beutiful personal library where I'd have all the [good] books I could ever want right at my fingertips.
I do like Katsa's fantasy world. It's so fun to see new lands through a novel. Yay for maps at the front of books!

Oh, I'll join you there Noisy Daisy.
ReplyDeleteMine would have lots of comfy chairs, iced coffee and towers of books.
