The Adoration of Jenna Fox cover

I love the cover of The Adoration of Jenna Fox. Don't you? Not only is it eye-catching, but it fits the story - for reasons I won't disclose here, as I want to encourage those who have yet to read the book to do so and find out for themselves! :)

Upon realizing I had a little purple-and-blue plastic butterfly in my possession, I took a picture:

Mary E. Pearson joined in the fun, calling her picture of The Adoration of Rex and Spot:

In early April, I received a forwarded email filled with nature photographs. It included this beautiful image, which I promptly sent over to Mary:

Paradox posted a whole bunch of fan art book covers, including one for The Adoration of Jenna Fox. Click here to see them.

  1. This has nothing to do with this post but... congrats for being selected as a NYPL Book for the Teen Age this year! http://www.nypl.org/books/sta2009/index.cfm?id=scifi

Okay, now I will think about how to recreate the cover ;)

  2. I already did something like this almost two months ago, where I made fan versions/re-imaginings of several book covers, including The Adoration of Jenna Fox.

    Check it out: http://paradoxrevealed.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-fan-art-book-covers.html

  4. Thanks for the congrats cupcakewitch. I was thrilled to hear the news.

Paradox, I love what you did with the covers on your site! How fun!

And hey LW, that is so cool. I love that butterfly. I have a few around here I have collected. I will have to give it a shot myself . . .

  5. That's pretty cool! I think I'll have to pick up this book just from the cover alone, it looks very interesting.

  6. Shooting Stars Mag: I've always loved butterflies, and collected (read: been given!) little things which are purple.

Mary: Please do! I'd love to see your take on it.

Rainbows: Definitely get the book. You won't be sorry.

  7. Nice job LW.

I knew I wanted to read the book as soon as I saw the cover. Super intriguing. I'm a terrible judge-the-book-by-the-cover girl. In this case, no disappointment.

  8. I thought it was interesting that the cover is the back of the hand, and LW chose to do her palm.

    I think that's telling!

The back is what you would look at when trying to identify who you are. Don't you think? The palm is what you extend for help, as LW does ALL DAY LONG. :~)

  9. Lorie Ann: If only it were an artistic choice! You give me too much credit. I had to take the picture with one hand and balance the butterfly on the other, and it was simply easier to hold it in my palm instead!

    Thanks, Shelf Elf.

  11. I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook and decided to read it myself as well. The theme and the manner in which the resulting ethical dilemmas were dealt with seemed quite unique. It has a compassionate yet insightful feel and many lines I have quoted. It tackles hard questions with an open and spacious heart.
