Some people believe that everything happens for a reason. Some search for reasons; others create them. I think that, when "bad" things happen, if you try to look on the bright side of things and perhaps learn a lesson from what happened and/or be stronger for it, you can move forward and move on (Lorie Ann would shout, "Onward!" here) to bigger and better things. I think you create your own possibilities, and that seeing possibility and potential in other things and other people is what moves you higher, opens more doors, carries you closer to reaching your own potential.
Yes! During the very difficult circumstances that inspired tmas, a dear person in my life said something very much like what Nik said - that sometimes reasons for tragic events are in the future, and we begin to see them as life weaves together. I've never forgotten that. It has changed the way I think about adversity.

ReplyDeleteI think that thought offers a lot of hope while going through a difficult time. It's okay not to see the reason now, it will manifest itself one day.
ReplyDeleteProvidence is best read backwards, I believe. You can't tell the reason and what for until you are down the road looking back.
ReplyDeleteYes, LW. Onward!
