Absolutely! But only for fun. I'm now at an age where I could be compelled to try to camouflage or cover gray hair for real, and I don't want to do that. I never want to feel I need to color my hair. At the same time, if I want to go purple, so be it.
YES! I wish I had done it in crazier colors, like Maybe does, when I was a teenager. Now I feel like I should stay brown. Although as an old lady I'm planning on going blue or pink!
I was actually going to dye my hair pink, like Maybe's. But then I found out that because I have black hair, I'd have to strip it of all color first . . . so I chickened out.
I really like the color of my hair and have never been interested in dyeing it -- not even highlights or anything of that nature! However, if I earned a worthwhile role which required it, I'd do it for that, noting worthiness and within reason.
I'm brunette. I've tried to go blond...twice. Worst idea ever. I ended up dying it an auburn color and then didn't dye it for about 4-5 years, when I decided to do some purple streaks. Sometimes I still miss the purple:(
That's so true about coloring just a strand or so of your hair. I love it when I'm in line or someplace, and the person in front of me has dyed a small chunk of their hair. It's like a lovely surprise.
I've tried to go red, but it usually becomes dark brown. I tend to stick to highlights, although there was one incident where one of highlighting colors was bleach, and my hairdresser didn't think my hair would go that light - white-blonde! I do think about doing a few strands in a fun color ... Maybe is much more adventurous than me!
My usual is just highlights, but I've done burgundy, raspberry, and a pink streak! Pink is definitely fun, though I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to go for the pink plunge.
I'd dye my head titian red! It's already browny-red. I once asked a stylist to put red highlights in, but he persuaded me to have blonde highlights instead. I was younger then. Now I would say my way or I march!

Oh, yeah! I had big chunks of pink not too long ago. I'm actually writing a serial-hair-dye character right now, too!

Yep, it's totally empowering to dye your hair a radical colour, even if it's just a strand.
